Homemade Kaleidoscope; Using Ingredients From Your Kitchen

What you will need:
Milk
Bowl
Food coloring
Dish soap

Directions:
Fill the bowl with 1 inch of milk.
Add one drop of food coloring. (Adding additional colors is recommended but be sure to place each color on opposite sides so they do not bleed together).

DO NOT STIR or MIX the colors.
Add one drop of dish soap to the middle of the bowl and watch the milk and soap repel making a kaleidoscope effect.

*Note: I was unable to get a good photo of the kaleidoscope effect because it happens fairly quick. However, it is really neat and we did this process with different colors at least ten time this morning. Have fun!!

Super Man Egg; Princess Egg

What you will need:
Egg
Needle
Felt
Glitter glue (optional)
Glue (hot glue gun works best but any glue will work)
Pipe cleaners
Scissors
Marker
Googly eyes (optional)
Directions:
Using the needle poke a hole into each end of the egg. One hole should be sightly bigger to allow the contents to come out. You may need to swivel the needle around just a little to make the hole big enough. It should be the size of the tip of an ink pen when done.

Being very careful not to break the egg blow out the contents using your mouth. This takes some time to do and if you blow too hard you will break your egg.

Rinse the egg with water and dry it off.

Cut out a cape using the felt.

Cut out a belt.

Decorate with glue if desired.

Cut the pipe cleaner so the you have two pieces about two inches long.

Bend the top of the pipe cleaners to create the hand.

Draw the face on your egg, or glue on the googly eyes and draw a mouth.

Glue on the cape, belt, and hands.

* My son was really into super hero's at the time we did this craft, however, you could make the egg into anything. For example, using the felt, cut out a pink dress and make a princess egg.

Toilet Paper Roll Basketball Hoop

What You Will Need:
Toilet paper roll
Pipe cleaner
Pom pom
Scissors

Directions:
Cut the pipe cleaner in half.
Using the tip of the scissors or a pen, poke a hole in the top of the tp roll.
Poke the pipe cleaner through.
Bend the ends so they are flush with the inside of the tp roll.

This craft takes under five minutes to make but is a simple and fun craft that you can play with. My son and I had a contest to see who could make the most baskets in 5 minutes. Set the timer and play!
